GORGEOUS BIKES is the premier and
longest serving ROOF helmet dealer in the UK and pioneered the
BOXER flip up series from the original 1994 BOXER CLASSIC through
to the 2002 BOXER V and more recently the iconic BOXER V8, introduced
in spring of 2009. We have more experience with this helmet
than any other UK dealer or internet site and can demystify
any issues you may have concerning size differences between
the various models, colour options, replacement parts and
track day or European legal tinted or Iridium visors. We
carry all helmets in stock and there is no delay between
order and despatch. Contrary to popular opinion ROOF have
definitely not withdrawn from the UK market but have simply
drastically reduced the number of UK agents to those who
are brand experts and who can offer the kind of back up
and repair service this iconic brand warrants. In fact ROOF
is now operating from a brand new factory so that delivery
delays (except for the very latest models) are now a thing
of the past. Even if you have a missing vent from an R010
or a screw kit from the original Boxer we can help and we
make regular bi-monthly trips to the factory so that more
serious repairs or warranty issues can be dealt with direct.
In fact, in our experience there is more chance of a speedy
warranty resolution with a ROOF than there is with most
of the established Japanese and Italian brands.

COMMENT:
Not to be confused with either
the Boxer Classic or the 2nd generation Bover V, this
is the brand new third generation V8 built at Roof's
new factory and with a thousand and one improvements
over the earlier versions, despite the similar external
appearance. You have to use the V8 to appreciate the
difference, but the chin-piece and visor which were
such an awkward fit on the V are now massively improved,
so that for the first time using a Boxer it really is
possible to close the flip section down on the move.
The visor itself now forms a much improved seal with
the chin piece and the securing screws boast a new anti-loosening
system. Particularly impressive is the quality of the
paint finish, and after a 1000 mile test ride back from
the factory there was no real 'expansion' or growth
of the liner, so that like the fabled full-face R021,
the new Boxer retains its original shape much better
than the earlier models This item is in stock now and
we have all sizes, including both the 57 and 58 options
in medium. We are currently the only official UK dealer
and the official European price is a massive 395 euros,
so the saving is real!! Full back and spares service

COMMENT:
The helmet that started it all back in 1994 is now being remade in Roof's new factory and is not to be confused with older stock that has been appearing at shows and on EBAY for the last 38 months most of which is over five years old. Basically, there are no bargains, and if you see anything advertised for less than £i75 it is likely to be from stock made before a fire burnt own the company's original factory some five years ago.
The classic is as it always was, devoid of the superior venting of the Boxer V or the improved fit, fixtures and finish of the V8. Its is also only available in matt black.
However, it is this simplicity and lack of overt logos (the ROOF decal is black on matt black and thus can hardly be seen) which attracts its followers, and it remains one of the coolest and iconic helmets on the market. Iridium, Chrome and black visors for European use are fully available as are all spares.

A development of the fabled R020 Racer, the Panther boasts many detailed improvements over its predecessor, such as improved venting (both in operation and build quality), plusher lining and more refined fit.
World famous for the unique smoothness and flushness of its external profile, It differs from the Daytona both in the more slightly more expensive lining and the higher proportion of aramid in the shell. It is without a doubt one of the best fitting and certainly the quietest full face helmet currently in production

| COMMENT:
Just like the Boxer Classic, the R010 Daytona situation is confused by the fact that there are still four or five year old helmets floating around the internet masquerading as new stock which in reality were acquired by certain wholesalers very cheaply some years ago.
Since mid 2009, however, the matt black/white Daytona has been produced again from Roof's new factory. This is the only colour in which the new production is currently available. and anything in blue or red is likely to have been manufactured much earlier.
To be honest, little has changed design wise from the original as there really was very little wrong and the overall fit and finish of the Daytona and Le mans series were as original as they were brilliant. Do not forget, this was a helmet that achieved MCN's coveted 'Product of the Year' award in the mid decade and proof of its genius was that some unsponsored racers actually PAID for their own... almost unheard of!! A very close fitting shell, the Daytona is extraordinarily comfortable and without a doubt the second quietest helmet in the world - the quietest being its more expensive stablemate, the top-of-the-range R021 Panther. Earlier versions of the Daytona and the plain coloured Diversion from which it was derived were blighted, however, by flimsy top vents and self-unscrewing visors..... but both these issues have now been addressed by the factory and the detailing of the Daytona is now as robust as the basic shell.
Vastly underrated by those not in the know, the Daytona is one of those helmets you can never change away from once you've owned one...

A shallow cut 'scooter' style helmet, the Roof Fever has one big advantage over its similarly styled rivals from Lazer and Momo and Osbe - its made from fibreglass while they are plastic!
Beautiful polished visor mounts and classy matt finishes in white or black give the Street Fever a real aura of cosmoplitan class but beware when ordering an xs is really a small, a small really a medium and so on,

COMMENT:
Truly one of a kind, you would think it would be comparatively simple and frequent to make an open face helmet from fiberglass, but in the £175 category there is only BELL and ROOF. Everything else is either 50% more expensive (Arai) or made from plastic (Momo). The difference between the RT and the Roadster is that the latter comes with the unique detachable face mask and a visor, so that even motorway riding is not compromised, and when the face mask is in place the visor sits comfortably on top rather than pressing down on the nose as do most others. Like the RT, the Roadster is a long, deep, cut, but the slight advantage the Roof seems to have over the Bell is that its sits lower on the brow making the helmet appear smaller when worn. It is also particularly good for those with longer, narrower head shapes. The Roadster is also available in XXL and, as Roof generally is about a centimeter oversize, there are few the biggest size won't accommodate. It is only available in matt black.

Is there no end to the Roof team's innovative genius?
Yet another first in helmet design comes in the shape of an open face helmet featuring a visor that thinks its a pair of googles..
The same fundamental shape as the small cut Fever, the Kicker features a novel elasticated retaining strap instead of a pivot for the screen and a pair of rubberised buffers over the top to rest it on.
The shell is a small cut in the modern scooter idiom but unlike other significant brands such as Momo, Osbe or Lazer, is made from fibreglass and thus is inherently superior.
When ordering note that Roof sizing is marginally larger than the equivalent Japanese classification though co-incidentally very similar to MoMo sizing.
